SUMMARY:Move More GIRLS ONLY Football League - Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Di
 strict
DESCRIPTION:Venues: Various school sites.\n\nYear: 5 and 6 Girls\n\nFixture
s will be organised by teachers to take place at school sites after school
.\n\nThe duration in which the complete your group phase games will span b
oth autumn and spring terms with a finals event happening just after the E
aster break.\n\nRules:\n\n Matches are eight-a-side and 20 mins each way\
n2. Roll on/off subs\n3. Home team to supply ref and match balls (size fou
r)\n4. No off-sides\n5. All free kicks are direct\n6. Shin pads must be wo
rn\n7. Win=3pts\, draw=2pts and loss=1pt\n\nIf teams finish with the same
points at any stage\, overall goal difference and then goals scored will b
e used to separate them. If these are identical\, the aggregate score in t
he matches between the two teams\n\nThe main differences from the traditio
nal district football league include the below:\n\n No separate small
and large school groups. This would be the long term aim but due to sig
n up this has not been possible.\n There will not be a halfway point w
here groups are rearranged inline with autumn term results.\n This halfwa
y point usually puts pressure on teachers to complete fixtures within the
autumn term and then also results in some teams not progressing to an addi
tional spring term group phase stage. This would go against the nature of
this Girls league which aims to provide as much extra playing time as
is possible.\n KEY RULE If the score line margin becomes 5 plus goals t
o one respective team. The team at this deficit will be able to add two e
xtra players to the field of play thus creating a 10 vs 8 in their favour.
Once the score line is reduced back to a 2 goal margin the team who were
able to add the two extra players will then need to immediately reduce the
ir on field playing team back to 8 players at that moment in time thus re-
establishing an 8v8 match.\n This will ensure the key outcome of this le
ague is more readily achieved with girls enjoying the experience and c
ontinuing their participation and love for the game.\n\nFormat:\n\n Three
groups of 5 teams.\n Play each team in your group once.\n Please be fle
xible in trying to play your fixtures as evenly as possible whereby playin
g fixtures at home and away.\n Please play all your group phase fixtures
by Easter Half term.  \n This will then allow the top teams from groups
A\, B\, C to get themselves organised to play in the finals event due to h
appen soon after the Easter break.\n The no heading rule will be implemen
ted. To ensure player welfare and mitigate against potential health ris
ks linked to heading the ball. A number of local youth leagues have introd
uced this rule also.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhat is a deliberate header?\n\nA delib
erate header / heading will usually involve a player moving their head and
/ or body:\n\n Towards the ball and / or\n Into the path of the ball Wh
en judging if a header is ‘deliberate’\, account should be taken of wh
ether the player had the time / opportunity to avoid the ball.\n\nThis wil
l be influenced by:\n\n The speed of the ball\n The distance between the
ball and the player when it is played by another player or rebounds from
the goalpost or crossbar etc.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nLaw Changes \n\nDeliberately
heading the ball is an offence punishable by an indirect free-kick. The in
direct free-kick is taken at the point where the ball was deliberately hea
ded.\n\n Where a player of the defending team deliberately heads the ball
in their own penalty area\, the indirect free-kick is taken from the pena
lty mark\n\nDeliberately heading the ball is not a cautionable (yellow car
 d) or sending off (red card) offence\, unless it:\n\n Stops or interferes
with a promising attack (yellow card) • Denies the opposing team a goal
or obvious goal-scoring opportunity (red card)\n Occurs often enough to
be considered ‘persistent misconduct’ (yellow card)\n

SUMMARY:PARENT WEBINAR - Understanding Emotionally Based School Avoidance (
 EBSA)
DESCRIPTION:Title: Understanding Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)\
n\nWhen: Tuesday 26th November 2024 at 1pm\n\nSummary: There are many reas
ons why children miss school. Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) is
one of the reasons that is particularly rooted in anxiety or fear with po
tentially great consequences for the child. It is a pattern of prolonged a
bsence where a child has a severe difficulty attending school due to emoti
onal factors. However\, EBSA and related behaviours are often misunderstoo
d by parents\, carers and schools. This lack of understanding of EBSA some
times results in responding in unhelpful ways and making things worse.\n\n
This online session will aim to provide an overview of EBSA while demystif
ying it. Specifically\, during the session we will be:\n\n Drawing attent
ion to the signs of EBSA\;\n Analysing risk and protective factors for de
veloping EBSA\;\n Sharing practical techniques for supporting children.\n
\nDuration: Approximately 60 minutes\n\nHow do you sign up for the online
session? To register for this online session\, please complete the form be
low. Once you complete our short registration form\, you will be registere
d for the online session. You will automatically receive an invitation for
the zoom session. If you don’t hear from us by the 25th November\, don
’t hesitate to contact Marijana on marijana@move-more.org Please make s

the bowler does not need to wait. The batting team continue until all the

SUMMARY:FEET FIRST 26th March 2025 (Part One)
DESCRIPTION:** BOOKINGS CLOSED FOR 26th MARCH 2025**\n\nFeet First is an al
l-day dance festival event\, organised by Move More for primary schools ac
ross Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. Children are invited to come and showcase
their dance routine under the spectacular show lights at the prestigious C
heltenham Town Hall. This academic year we have a choice of two dates for
schools to submit their preference (if any). The day will start with a liv
e rehearsal run through for each school\, followed by a practice walk thro
ugh introduction parade that will open the event. Children will be split i
nto one of two acts and get to watch the other half of the performance whe
n not participating.\n\nTickets for the event will be sold through Chelten
ham Town Hall Box office and a link will be sent out to schools\, to forwa
rd on to parents so that they can come and watch the whole performance in
 the afternoon.\n\nDates: Wednesday 26th March 2025 or Wednesday 21st May 2
025.\n\nSchools can submit up to TWO dance groups (for example a mixed age
dance club AND a special whole year group performance). No more than 90 c
hildren per school.\n\nDance preparation notes:\n\n Songs / performances
must not exceed 3 minutes where possible.\n Dances will be performed in a
n arena setting meaning that the audience seating will be located on ALL s

’ dance routine.\n Floor space for performances is approximately 17m
Long by 6.5m wide.\n Please make sure that the music is less than 3 minut
es long where possible.\n\nPlease complete the event registration form bel

oses we will send you a dance details form which will need to be completed
and returned to Move More before 10th January 2025. This information is c
rucial for us to be able to plan the event across 2 days and go on to prod

SUMMARY:Swim Cheltenham 2025 Dean Close
DESCRIPTION:**BOOKINGS NOW CLOSED**\nWHAT IS IT ABOUT?\nSwim Cheltenham has
been born out of the success of the Heidi’s Heroes programme with the a
spiration to further enhance the support for primary school aged children
around water safety and confidence\n\nThis swimming intervention programme
is primarily for year 5 and 6 pupils that have displayed nervousness or l
ack of confidence or unsafe behaviour around water during school swimming
lessons.\nTHE PROGRAMME:\nWe have 3 programmes running in Cheltenham at di
fferent dates and locations. All of them take place from a Monday to Frida
y every day and it is important that you please choose a week where you ha
ve no conflicting Y5 or Y6 school events or inset days in your diary that
may prevent the children's full daily attendance. Hopefully by offering th
is additional flexibility to schools\, the children will get the full bene
fit from the programme by attending all 5 lessons.\n\nLessons will be capp
ed at 14 students to a lesson this time to ensure the quality of the teach
ing across the programme is at a high. They criteria for the programme has
also shifted this year to a more niche selection of students who need to
improve their confidence and safety around water (rather than improving di
stance and swimming stamina). If children can swim unaided for 3 or more m
eters and are able to float on their back then we encourage schools to not
enter them into this programme and prioritise those that fall into one of
the 3 categories below.\n\nChildren are invited from years 5 and 6 to att
end a daily half hour swimming lesson with one of our qualified swimming i
nstructors. This week long\, daily swimming programme is designed to signi
ficantly boost a child's swimming safety and confidence in and around the
water. To help you identify these children\, we have outlined three catego
ries that they may fall into:\n\nCategory 1\n\nNervous of entering water s
afely\, lifting feet off the floor or letting go of the side.\nNervous of
jumping in and returning to the wall\, putting face in the water or blowin
g bubbles in the water.\nRequires a lot of physical and verbal encourageme
nt or one to one support.\n\nCategory 2\n\nConfident in water and willing
to try but unable to safely float on their front or back even with a float
ing aid\nConfident but unable to kick with woggle\, a float or on their ba
ck with arms by sides.\nUnable to perform safe self-rescue in a pool situa
 tion.\n\nCategory 3\n\nCan travel 3m+ distance WITH a floating aid\nCan co
nfidently jump in and get out of a pool\nUnable to travel 3m+ without a fl
 oating aid\nCOURSE DATES &amp\; VENUES:\n31st March - 4th April 2025 @ Dea
 n Close School\, Hatherley Road\, Cheltenham GL51 6EP (AM ONLY)\n\n7th Apr
 il - 11th April 2025 @ CLC Health and Fitness Centre\, Malvern Road\, Chel
 tenham GL50 2NX **(FULLY BOOKED)**\n\n30th June - 4th July 2025 @ Cheltenh
 am College\, Thirlestaine Rd\, Cheltenham GL53 7AB\nREGISTRATION:\nSchools
are now invited to register for the forthcoming Heidi's Heroes swimming p
rogramme 2025! This will give us an idea of overall numbers and ability fo
r us to be able to prioritise placements.\n\nRegistration will take place
in 2 stages.\n\nStage One - please complete your schools registration form
below.\n\nStage Two - we will contact you to confirm your school's number
of placements within the programme. At this point you will be asked to su
bmit a register of pupils\, and put them in order of ability / confidence
so that we can accurately group them into abilities on Monday when we run
our initial assessment.\n\nIf you are able to provide your own transportat
ion\, please do so.\n\nWe will try to ensure that as many core membership
schools as possible can access the intervention\, prioritising categories
starting with those pupils with the greatest need i.e. starting with Categ
ory 1.\nWith limited resources and high numbers of pupils expected\, there

SUMMARY:Swim Cheltenham 2025 CLC Health & Fitness Centre
At this point you will be asked to su
bmit a register of pupils\, and put them in order of ability / confidence
so that we can accurately group them into abilities on Monday when we run
our initial assessment.\n\nIf you are able to provide your own transportat
ion\, please do so.\n\nWe will try to ensure that as many core membership
schools as possible can access the intervention\, prioritising categories
starting with those pupils with the greatest need i.e. starting with Categ
ory 1.\nWith limited resources and high numbers of pupils expected\, there
may be a limit to the number of pupils being accommodated per school.\nHO

SUMMARY:FEET FIRST 21st May 2025 (Part Two)
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nFeet First is an all-day dance festival event\, orga
nised by Move More for primary schools across Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. C
hildren are invited to come and showcase their dance routine under the spe
ctacular show lights at the prestigious Cheltenham Town Hall. This academi
c year we have a choice of two dates for schools to submit their preferenc
e (if any). The day will start with a live rehearsal run through for each
school\, followed by a practice walk through introduction parade that will
open the event. Children will be split into one of two acts and get to wa
tch the other half of the performance when not participating.\n\nTickets f
or the event will be sold through Cheltenham Town Hall Box office and a li
nk will be sent out to schools\, to forward on to parents so that they can
come and watch the whole performance in the afternoon.\n\nDates: Wednesda
y 26th March 2025 or Wednesday 21st May 2025.\n\nSchools can submit up to
TWO dance groups (for example a mixed age dance club AND a special whole y
ear group performance). No more than 90 children per school.\n\nDance prep
aration notes:\n\n Songs / performances must not exceed 3 minutes where p
ossible.\n Dances will be performed in an arena setting meaning that the
audience seating will be located on ALL sides of the dancefloor area\, so
we recommend avoiding a ‘front-facing’ dance routine.\n Floor space f
or performances is approximately 17m Long by 6.5m wide.\n Please make s
ure that the music is less than 3 minutes long where possible.\n\nPlease c
omplete the event registration form below so that we can start the next ph
ase of planning and preparation. The deadline for registration is 10th Nov
ember 2024. \n\nAfter this deadline closes we will send you a dance detai
ls form which will need to be completed and returned to Move More before 1
0th January 2025. This information is crucial for us to be able to plan th
e event across 2 days and go on to produce a programme and running order o
f all the different performances and songs.\n\nIf you have any questions p
