Title: Developing resilience and grit – powerful strategies to help your child
When: Wednesday 2nd October 2024 at 1pm
Summary: Children’s happiness and success in life come from, amongst other things, their ability to take on challenges and bounce back when things don’t go their way. In other words, it comes from their grit and resilience. To use Kori Miller’s analogy, grit can be seen as the engine propelling us to where we want to go, and resilience as the oil that keeps the engine humming along.
Our job as adults is to teach children the skills to be able to harness and drive that engine and know when and how to change the oil.
If you are curious about how to encourage development of resilience and grit in your children, our next online session is the right place for you. During this session, we will focus on:
- Relationship between resilience, grit and brain development.
- Ways to encourage the development of the “Yes” brain and growth mindset (foundations of resilience and grit).
- Techniques for helping your child practice resilience and grit and enabling them to have positive impact on their confidence, self-worth and ultimately their mental well-being
Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
