Trustee Vacancies 

We are seeking to recruit exceptional people to join the current board of trustees at Move More. The current board is personal, supportive and progressive group and we are looking for people that share Move More’s values and goals, to help us grow and prosper, to make a positive contribution to children’s physical activity levels and health and wellbeing across Cheltenham and Tewkesbury and wider across Gloucestershire and South Worcestershire.

We are particularly keen to recruit trustees with experience of:

– Finance/Accounting/HR

– Commercial/Business

– Charity governance

– Public health/National Governing Bodies/Local Authority/National organisations

Role title: Trustee

Board meetings: 3 meetings per annum

Duration of term: 5 years

Current board: Currently 5 trustees, with a view to increasing this number to 8.

Remuneration: the role is a voluntary position, reasonable out of pocket expenses in running the charity will be reimbursed.

Time commitment: Preparation and attendance at board meetings, as well as occasional additional support

Early Years Holiday Camp Leader

Move More is a registered charity which works across Gloucestershire & South Worcestershire. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to be active in a fun, safe and creative environment. Move More is an innovative, vibrant organisation, we pride ourselves on being able to make a positive difference to the lives of children and their families through, PE, sport and physical activity. Our range of holiday camps (5-12 yr. olds) and our Early Years camp (3-7 yr olds) are an extension of the work we do in schools during term time.

This role is for an early years practitioner over the school holidays, we operate our camps each day during the holidays over each holiday period apart from Christmas.

JOB ROLE

  • To support and lead safe, inclusive, fun, active and engaging sessions for children attending the Early years’ Move More camp.
  • To effectively supervise children abiding by Move More’s and Ofsted’s health & safety and Child Protection & Safeguarding policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • As a team and independently, (when appropriate), be responsible for the setting up and closure of camps, facilitating tasks and activities, as well as caring for the children’s overall health and wellbeing needs
  • To liaise and communicate effectively with the children’s parents and carers where appropriate.

Knowledge and Understanding
• A clear vision and understanding of the positive role of physical activity, in the healthy lives for young people.

• A confident early year’s practitioner, within many different physically and practical activities and with an enthusiasm for working with 3-7 yrs old children whilst being flexible in delivery and schedule changes.

• Sound knowledge and understanding of child development, the early years framework, health factors and how to share key, child centred messages through fun and engaging activities.

• Knowledge of inclusion strategies to promote the involvement in physical activity, to all.

Experience

• Experience of working with 3-7 yr aged children e.g. within pre-schools, schools, holiday camps, clubs.

• Experience of working across a range of different physical and practical activities including arts and crafts, games, playing and developing basic fundamental movement skills.

Skills and attributes

•Have a passion for the job, for working with children and a drive for excellence.

• Highly motivated, able to demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills that can be adapted to best suit a range of needs and audiences.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

• The ability to create positive working relationships with colleagues, parents / carers & children.

• The ability to work within cohesive and supportive teams as well as independently.

• The ability to demonstrate the desire and passion to make a real difference to the lives and life-chances of children and young people.

Qualifications

-An Ofsted recognised Early Years qualification from level 3 – 6 will be considered.

-Paediatric First Aid

-Safeguarding and Child Protection

Pay Range

£10-£15 per hour

• Knowledge of disability sport and inclusion strategies to promote the involvement in physical activity, PE and sport to all.

Experience
• Some experience of working with primary aged children e.g. within curriculum PE lessons, after school clubs, holiday camps.
• Experience of working across a range of different sports and physical activity.

Skills and attributes

• Have a passion for the job, for working with children and a drive for excellence.
• Highly motivated, able to demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills that can be adapted to best suit a range of needs and audiences.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• The ability to create positive working relationships with a large range of staff, parents & children.
• The ability to work within cohesive and supportive teams as well as independently.
• The ability to demonstrate the desire and passion to make a real difference to the lives and life-chances of children and young people.
• Proficient user of databases and Microsoft Office packages.

Qualifications

• A sports related degree, teaching or health related qualification would be preferable but not essential.

• A Level 2 NGB qualification would be preferable.

• Possible courses attended e.g. Safegaurding & Child Protection, First Aid.

• Current driving license

Dates: This work will take place in the school holidays.

Hours: Up to 40 hrs a week, FT/PT hours available on a seasonal basis. .
Camp maximum day 8.30-5.30pm, other daily camp timing options available i.e. full day, half days.
Staff rota system in place when appropriate.

Pay Range

£6.50-£15 per hour
